New Grant Available for Welsh Tourism Businesses
The Welsh weather is known for being unpredictable, and it’s now having a real impact on the tourism and hospitality sector. Guests are cancelling or waiting until the last minute to book, often based on the weather forecast.
To support businesses, Visit Wales has announced a new round of Weather-Proofing Grants for 2025–2026, offering between £5,000 and £20,000 to help small tourism and hospitality businesses across Wales improve their facilities for all-weather use.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, your business must:
Be in the tourism or hospitality sector and based in Wales
Employ between 9 and 49 permanent salaried staff
Have been trading for at least one year
Have a website, social media presence, or TripAdvisor listing showing that you attract visitors from outside your local area
Not have received funding in Phase 1 of the scheme
The fund will cover up to 75% of the costs, up to a maximum of £20,000. All work must be completed and claimed by 13 March 2026.

Roofline and gutter cleaning to prevent water overflow
Cladding and signage cleaning for a clean and professional exterior
Removal of algae, moss, and graffiti from guest-facing surfaces
Outdoor Furniture and Equipment Cleaning
Cleaning of benches, tables, and external fixtures
Washing of parasols, canopies, gazebos, and outdoor structures
Maintenance of play equipment or sheltered guest areas
